As promised an English translation (sort of) version by me (and Google translate)

A while ago we posted a short report. With shorter stops, three days a place you come to less extra things we notice. So therefore, a report of a few places at once.

Under Naples we stayed in the Port of the Islands Resort, a very nice location in the middle of nowhere. We have on Marco Island, north of it, relax eaten at The Sand Bar, an American bar with TV screens everywhere with sports programs on it, including a very exciting mountain bike stunt competition.

Another nice trip there was the flying boat excursion through the Everglades, an area with plenty of water and mangroves, where we saw several alligators. Our captain has even one hand held a freshly caught fish, which he showed how the jaws of an alligator hard slams, as he has a prey bite. That really goes with a bang, as if there is a lid on a pit! Also see some beautiful birds were there, including white egrets (know the Dutch name ...), great white herons (a great white heron species), birds of prey and lots of little black crabs on the trunks of the mangroves. The last we could see from a wooden walkway through a mangrove forest. This included a visit to a gator-man, where we could touch a larger and could hold a small alligator. Very surprising! The abdomen is very soft, the back is hard with bumps. These are hard bones, which absorb heat in order to keep his body temperature. Hence, that part frequently comes out of the water. They remain impressive animals, where you better what distance you love, because an alligator, attacking on land running as fast as a racehorse!

After this Resort, where we unexpectedly a "complimentary breakfast" (another nice wink!) Had to much to the delight of the boys that morning like soon and for us went out to dinner, we traveled to Key West. That's still a long way! From the mainland is more than 110 miles to the extreme point. A magnificent Waldorf Astoria hotel, The Reach, which is a wonderful place nearly at the tip of Key West and near the Atlantic Ocean. It has its own sandy beach, the kind of advertising, with a young man there, you move your chair for waiting, "Do you want a parasol there?", At fixed times a free cocktail, some fruit or ice cream, all wrong ! The ocean there is very clear, so, if you remain calm, you can see the fish swimming around.

We have also been there done snorkeling excursion, which we carry on a large catamaran to the Great Florida Reef. Proud of our guys, both without fear for the first time snorkeling entered the ocean. David even jumped from the boat! Both good swimmers! Lots of beautiful coral species seen in spheres, fans and "twigs", all kinds of fish, big and small, bright blue, orange, striped and many jellyfish ... Arko could not Bram behind the fish boost :) We still hoped and dolphin or a small shark, which unfortunately we have not seen. For over an hour we could look around there before heading back to the mainland.
When going back on board, I was terribly sick of the wave motion on the stairs. Unfortunately, I have long suffered from being held there ... The whole afternoon in bed situated evening walk very carefully to find balance again, that was an unexpected tail of this outing.

In the vicinity of the hotel were many beautiful boats and cars, big bigger biggest. One evening we ate delicious with Conch Republic, a sort of large bar on the edge of a marina, and we as concluding in the dark have played in the hotel pool with the boys (fiddle is still fun!) And Arko and I late when the boys were in bed, sat on an outdoor terrace, where it was still hot, but what a wonderful place! Unfortunately, all the luxury end :), so we went after three days again.

Meanwhile, we stay in Miami Beach, our last stop. It's equally out how everything works here. The hotel we could only parking aid of valet parking, a new system for us. If you want to use your car, you have to sign the counter, wait fifteen minutes, and then he will be driven up. Oh yes, and of course the tip for the valet not forget!
Last night we had dinner at one of-all-that restaurant near the beach. With pleasant music in the background, we enjoyed pizza, lasagna and salmon. Always nice here are the free refills your glass is nearly empty and if you do not pay attention, it is already filled. Less fun was the bill, we had heard that it was expensive here and it turned out to be wrong!
There are a lot of cats here, anyway, for the first time we see it this holiday. Probably the many hobos, because they walk around freely. We miss Leeuwtje and we are pleased with our good keepers at home!

During the walk home was struck by how much "show" you see in such a metropolis: big, impressive hotels, many colored lights, advertising, music, everything to attract people and entertain, so that money can be earned. Nice and cute, too crowded and superficial.

I had in the restaurant a conversation with our waitress, a young Spanish-speaking woman, who is studying medicine here and impressive days is: day from 8.00 until 15.00h she runs her internships at an ophthalmologist, and then from 16:00 to 23:00 to work in the restaurant and then another 50 minutes to drive home ... Her comment: "America is the land of opportunities!" With a background in Cuba is of course true. As a Dutchman, I am not, however, expect that studying is so heavy for us yet still beautiful study system (even despite the recent conversion to 100% loan-scholarship). Here it is really different!

Luckily our hotel room on the third floor. Regardless of the quarreling neighbors, where we nevertheless reception but equally have called for, who sent along someone after which it was fortunately a lot calmer;), we have a quiet room.

Still a few days left us here. Then we fly back home. For me, that means starting my new study, which I'm really looking forward to! For Arko and the boys will be back to work and back to school. What is less enthusiasm because ... Well nice to sleep in our own bed again soon! And all pictures and movies look back! Who can watch ??
